The purpose of the PTO is to provide parents, teachers, educational  support staff and community members with a forum for discussion to support the school’s educational and recreational needs and to promote open communication between the administration, teachers and parents.

All parents and/or legal guardians of students who currently attend Nashua School District 13E schools and all current faculty and staff of Nashua School are eligible for membership in the organization. Honorary membership is also available. Meetings are held once a month, currently the first Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Nashua School Library.

The Nashua PTO is a non-profit organization, governed by elected officers. This non-profit association is organized solely for the educational, literary and charitable purpose. It was re-established in 1999 after a lapse of several years. The organization began again with broad aims of fostering better communication with the school and providing an avenue for contributions. The group’s bylaws were adopted in February of 2002 and are available on the school’s website.

Some of the events that the PTO sponsors are:

·         Purchasing and serving  ice cream on Kite Day

·         Buying eggs and candy for the Easter Egg Hunt

·         Purchasing movie tickets for K-12 students at the end of the year

·         Supplying snacks for the students who participate in the Math Contest in Glasgow

·         Sponsoring the Missoula Children’s Theatre every two years

·         Making and selling buttons of students who participate in volleyball, basketball and cheerleading

·         Donating money for any student who competes in the spelling bee or geography bee at the state level

Also the PTO bought shirts and ties for the band members and purchased the mats hanging in the gym. They have also assisted other groups and organizations fundraisers by having them sell 50-50 tickets at home games.
